Poll: Fiction in June 🌈

it's Pride Month, let's fucking goooo! 🥳
This year, trans people are being attacked viciously, with US and UK legislation making trans life even more dangerous than it already was. I want to do something that helps for Pride Month. Therefore, the vote is between joyful trans prompts only this time. Here is a bit of background to explain the prompts:
Poseidon and Kaineus: you may know Ovid's version, where Kainís is raped by Poseidon who afterwards turns her into Kaineus upon her wish. But there is an older version by Greek mythographer Akousilaos of Argos in which Kainís seems to have consensual sex with Poseidon but is worried about getting pregnant by him or anyone else. To prevent this, Poseidon turns Kainís into Kaineus, an invulnerable man, stronger than any other. I thought this version could lend itself well to a gender disphoria storyline.
Herakles and Omphale: Herakles was sold as a slave to Omphale for the murder of the Argonaut Iphitos. Omphale forced Herakles to wear women's clothing and to do women's work. I thought because Herakles is the manliest man who ever manned the earth and it's not uncommon for trans women to overcompensate before transitioning, I thought it could be a story of self-discovery when Herakles feels right for the first time in Omphales' clothes.
Artemis and Siproites: Siproites saw Artemis naked as she bathed but instead of turning him into a stag to be killed by his own hunting dogs like she did with Aktaion, she turns Siproites into a girl. I feel like Siproites seeking her out to join her hunters because Siproites is a trans girl and Artemis accepting her would make for a sweet story.
Demonassa and Megillos: Demonassa and Megillos are two characters from Dialogues of the Hetaira by Lukian of Samosata. Demonassa is a Corinthian woman, who had a reputation of being sexually adventurous. Her friend Megilla reveals himself as the young man Megillos, who "was born with a body entirely like that of all women" but has "the tastes and desires of a man". An interesting paper speculates that Demonassa might be the active partner in their relationship and Megillos a male passive partner. That is why I thought a meet cute with a mentorship mummy vibe could work well for them. I summarised the dialogue here and you can read the original here.
